MEDIA RELATIONS

& INFLUENCER RELATIONS

The AI-proof future of SEO is…public relations?

WE WORK FOR

A man in a white shirt and tie is standing in water at the edge of a lake or pond, holding an open laptop and appearing frustrated. A smartphone and book are on the ground near him, and barren trees are in the background.

PUBLIC RELATIONS IS BACK, BABY.

Statistically, humans don’t read the newspaper. But you know who reads a lot of newspapers? Google and ChatGPT.

We can make as much SEO content as we want, but the mention and backlink from a high-trust, high volume media outlet is an organic SEO lightning rod. And hell, if it infuriates Fox News enough, the media buy is basically free.

TL;DR: there’s so much dog-shit SEO content out there now (because of AI) that Google and AI don’t know if it’s good unless it comes from an authoritative media outlet.

SOCIAL MEDIA RUNS ON CREATORS

Time and time again, I’ve worked for big brands that have gone and thrown out all of their traditional media relations in favour of influencer relations. Especially for underfunded Canadian brands that don’t have content teams or studios.

If you need native social media content creation, obviously that’s the bulk of what we do. But if you’re trying to build trust, reach a niche subculture or build your brand, influencer relations is a powerful way to do it.
